ABEKOL NF is a food supplement composed by red rice monacolina K useful to keep the standard cholesterol level in the bloodstream (Reg. UE 432/2012).

Composition:

Fermented red rice seed (Oryza sativa L-Monascus purpureus Went.) e.s. tit. 3% Monacolina K, Guggul resin (Commiphora mukul Hook) e.s. tit. 10% guggulsteroni, artichoke leaves (Cynara scolymus L.) e.s. tit. 5% chlorogenic acid, Caraway fruits (Carum carvi L.) e.s., 95% Polycosanol of which 60% Octacosanol extracted from the Saccharum officinarum L., Q10 Coenzyme, OxiCYAN (antioxidant complex deriving from Blueberry - Vaccinium myrtillus L. fructus and Spirulina - Arthrospira platensis thallo), Chromium picolinate.

Fermented red rice

(Oryza sativa L- Monascus purpureus Went.) e.s. seed tit. 3% monacolina K produced by the fermentation of a yeast called Monascus purpureus. The monacolina K contained in it, is a molecule able to inhibit the HMG-CoA reductase, the key - enzyme in the cholesterol biosynthesis.

OxiCYAN

It is the most powerful antioxidant known so far, it contains phycocyanin and antocyanins. It is used for atheromatous plaque prevention.

OxiCYAN is a plant extract produced and supplied by Biosfered, a Turin University SPIN OFF.

Guggul

(Commiphora mukul Hook) oleoresin titrated at 10% in guggulsteroni. The cholesterol lowering and lipid-lowering effects occur through a cholesterol synthesis reduction and a decrease of the triglycerides plasmatic levels for an increased LDL lipoprotein catchment in the liver.

Artichoke

(Cynara scolymus) leaves e.s. titrated at 2.5% in chlorogenic acid. The artichoke has an excellent choleretic activity and because of this activity it generates a lipid-lowering effect with an increase in HDL. Moreover the artichoke performs an interesting cholesterol synthesis reduction activity by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase. Its function occurs through the enzyme suppression in the liver that slows down the glucose release in the bloodstream, so when the body has not an adequate glucose quantity in the bloodstream, it starts transforming the stored adipose tissue into usable energy instead of glucose. This transformation increases consequently the metabolism of our body by increasing the fat burning process.

Caraway

(Carum carvi L.) fruit. It is a plant used to stimulate the bile flow (substance useful for the digestion and the lipid absorption). It has also an excellent carminative activity.

Polycosanol

Mixture of aliphatic alcohol derived from the sugar cane. The most important element is the octacosanol. The polycosanols conduct an important activity in the plasmatic cholesterol level decrease not through the HMG-CoA enzyme reductase inhibition but through a reduction of the molecules number available for the cholesterol synthesis.

Q10 Coenzyme

as known as ubiquinone, organic molecule with a antioxidant activity synthesized like the cholesterol in the liver. Despite the presence of many antioxidants it is fundamental to assimilate the CoQ10, since by interrupting the cholesterol synthesis, it interrupts the CoQ10 production too (by inhibiting the Farnesyl pyrophosphate enzyme synthesis).

Chromium

micronutrient present in traces in our organism, useful to maintain the right levels of glucose and cholesterol.
